FACELIFT COLLECTION: Digital Art
When I first began to dapple in digital art I did so by combining my photography with other images in Photoshop to create digitally based collage works. An example of one of my earlier digital art works, "Jumping Through Hoops - Michel Keck (2008)" can be seen here. Later I used digital technology to take different pieces of several pieces of my past works to build backgrounds for mixed media pieces of new works. One example of that is from my work titled: Take It All In Stride from my Monkey Business series that you can see here . I've combined digital art into my commissioned pieces for corporate clients as well such as work that I did for the bar/restaurant Bar Louie (view here). More recently my new digital artworks came to life quite simply as a result of me protecting my intellectual property rights. Sadly copyright infringement is rampant and brutal today. The illegal Chinese counterfeit sales of my art has hit my art business hard. It has been a devastating blow that is putting many U.S. businesses OUT of business. Unfortunately my fight has not only been against those overseas counterfeiters but thieves in the U.S. as well. Lack of morals abound here in the states just like they do everywhere else. We live in a society today where good moral values have been thrown out the window by a culture that continues to extol rising to the top at whatever cost.. even if that means stealing from others. Greed. Once an artist creates a work that artist owns the copyright to that work. The artist also owns the right to make derivatives of that copyrighted work. My FACELIFT Collection is about an artist's right to the 'recreations' of their original works. The rampant theft of artist's copyrighted works is what sparked my FACELIFT Digital Art Collection. When life gives you lemons make lemonade right? Or, to quote Samuel Jackson's character Darius Kincaid in 'The Hitman's Bodyguard'.. "When Life Gives Ya Shit You Make Kool-Aid!!" So... that is what I'm doing here with my FACELIFT digital art works... I'm mixing up a fresh batch of Kool-Aid with some new digital Keck art and breathing some fresh new life to some of my past favorite works! There are many different series of work in my FACELIFT digital art collection. Each series in this collection has it's own distinct style/flair. All of the digital art prints in my FACELIFT digital collection have been created either by myself or by my husband Brice Bauer. Some works are created as a collaborative effort between the two of us. We create each of these digital art works by using my original paintings as the base.
